Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes will be hosting their annual “Shine the Light Walk” tonight in Penn Yan. Participants will hear survivor stories and also have a chance to learn more about Safe Harbors and the services it and other similar agencies in the area provide. Here’s Jannine Phillips with Safe Harbors to tell us more.
Jannine says with October being Domestic Violence Awareness month, she wants people to know Safe Harbors is always available to provides services, at no charge, for individuals, children, and families who have experienced sexual assault, sexual abuse, and interpersonal violence.
Safe Harbor will also be accepting donations of gift cards to support their clients emergency needs at tonight’s event. Gas cards, Walmart gift cards and local grocery store cards are all welcome.
