In November Canandaigua voters will be asked to approve a handful of City Charter changes, chief among them an amendment that would extend the terms of City Council members from 2 to 4 years. They would also go to staggered terms instead of having everyone up for election at the same time. City Manager John Goodwin says this will bring more stability to city government
Another change being sought would change the terms of City Supervisors on the Ontario County Board from 2 to 4 years. The will be a public information session on these and other changes at Wood Library next Wednesday at 7.
