The Finger Lakes National Forest’s Ranger District Office located at 5218 State Route 414 in Hector, NY will be reducing the days and hours that they are open due to recent employee departures.
The office will temporarily be closed to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will remain open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with the exception of a one hour lunch break on those days from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. The public will still be able to get information on the National Forest in the front office foyer which is open twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. The public is encouraged to call 607-546-4470 or visit the Finger Lakes National Forest website for additional information.
“We understand that this closure will have an impact on the public, however with two key office positions currently vacant, this was the most appropriate solution” said Jodie L Vanselow, District Ranger for Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests, Hector Ranger District. “We are currently advertising to fill these positions temporarily, until a permanent solution is decided upon and hope to have this office closure in place for a very short time.” concluded Vanselow.
