Back by popular demand, Yoga at Seymour Library! Instructor Deborah Daly will be running a chair yoga class. No mats required. Comfortable clothes and shoes recommended.
Seymour Library, in partnership with the Harriet Tubman Boosters, will kick off Cayuga Reads this October with Bound for the Promised Land: Harriet Tubman: Portrait of an American Hero by Kate Clifford Larson. Cayuga Reads is a community reading program that encourages people in Cayuga County to read a single book, then come together to discuss it. Its goal is to promote reading, encourage conversation and strengthen community ties.
Community members are encouraged to read the book and participate in a book discussion or attend one of the special programs scheduled during October.
The Underground Railroad, a presentation by local historian Thomas Henry, on Wednesday, October 18 at 6:15 pm at Seymour Public Library.
Author Talk with Kate Clifford Larson on Wednesday, October 25th at 7 pm at Auburn Public Theater.
Book Discussions on Thursday, October 19 at 10 amand Wednesday, November 1 at 6 pm at Seymour Public Library.
Copies of the book in print, audio and digital formats are available to check out at Cayuga County libraries, thanks to a grant from the Cayuga Community Foundation. The Art of Stereo Photography

Join us in the library’s History Discovery Center as we host Stereo Photographer Diego Ruiz for a journey through the world of 3D photography, and its connection to the Finger Lakes in the 1800s. Explore 3D modern day variations of this historic process with the hands on portion of the program.
Thursday, October 19 at 2 pm
Stephanie McCall, owner of Quilts By Commission, will be running a hand quilting demonstration at Seymour Library.
Stephanie has taught beginning quilting classes all over CNY and has been awarded ribbons at the 2011, 2014 and 2017 NY State Fairs.
