Four Upstate New York colleges- including Hobart and William Smith- made the Top 50 Green Colleges for 2017, ranked by The Princeton Review.
The ranking methodology is based on a combination of school-reported data and student opinion surveys. Among the 10 survey questions include: Whether students have a quality of life on campus that is both healthy and sustainable. How well a school is preparing students for employment in an increasingly green economy, and how environmentally responsible a school’s policies are. Hobart and William Smith ranked 37th, Skidmore was 34th, Cornell University was 7th, and State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse was number 2.
The top green is College of the Atlantic in Bar Habor, Maine.
