Lydia L. (Murray) Fischer passed away on Friday, (September 22, 2017) at age 94.
Lydia’s visitation will be held Friday, (September 29) 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, (September 30) 1-4 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond
Rd. Her Memorial Service will be celebrated Sunday, (October 1) 4:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Concord 435 Holmes Road. Interment, Monday, October 2 11:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, N.Y. Following the interment, all are invited to join the family at Abigail’s Restaurant in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Lutheran Church of Concord 485 Holmes Rd., Rochester, NY 14626 or Save-A-Pet PO Box 114, Newfane, NY 14108 in her memory.
Lydia was a graduate of RBI and was employed as an executive secretary. She retired from the City of Rochester as an assistant to the director of Parks and Recreation. She was a proud 40 plus year member of Concord Lutheran Church. She was a member of the A.C.B.L., an accomplished and celebrated Diamond Life Master bridge player. Lydia loved to entertain family and friends and was devoted to her family.
Predeceased by her husband, Howard O. Fischer Sr. Survived by her loving children Marjorie (Brian) Oyer, Howard O. “Bud” Fischer Jr., Albert “Bert” Fischer (Glenda Marischen); grandchildren Elizabeth (Thomas) Schwartz, Mark (Bethany) Oyer, Anne (David) Rothrock; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Murray of Silver Lake, N.Y.; many beloved nieces, nephews; dear friends especially her bridge and church communities.
