The former Corning-Painted Post Middle School teacher sentenced earlier this year for having an ongoing sexual relationship with a student during the 2009-2010 school year has been arrested for violating her probation.
Kelly Conway was recently arrested by Painted Post police on an undisclosed charge and was sent to Steuben County Jail without bail.
Conway was sentenced in June to three years probation after pleading guilty in February to an endangering the welfare of a child charge. She originally faced a charge of rape. The incidents between Conway and the student, who was under the age of 17 at the time, did not happen at the middle school, but at the former Corning East high school where she also taught. Conway surrendered her teaching license and is not allowed near schools and must stay off social media as part of her sentencing.
