The murder of Craig Rideout, whose body was found in Yates County last summer, will be featured on Dateline NBC tonight.
The Rochester man was reported missing in July 2016. By the time that report was filed, investigators had already found his bloody and battered body wrapped in a tarp in a field just off Adams Road in the town of Jerusalem. The next day, Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies found two of Craig and Laura Rideout’s sons in Mendon Ponds Park. A bag of bloody clothing was in the trunk of the car they were in and another bag of evidence was floating in the pond. A jury convicted son Colin and estranged wife Laura Rideout of murder and tampering charges this summer. Another son, Alex, was convicted of tampering with evidence. The three will be sentenced in less than a month.
Producers for Dateline spent weeks in the Rochester area interviewing investigators and family members, and captured footage from the courtroom. The episode will air tonight at 10 on NBC
