David Henry Bradley Doktor, age 69, died unexpectedly at home in Phelps, N.Y., on Friday (September 15 2017).
Friends may call on Friday (September 29, 2017) from 1-3 p.m. at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps.

David started his career as a machinist at Kodak where he was called Doc due to his uncanny ability to fix anything. This love of all things machine was also expressed in his love of hot-rod cars and motorcycles and he was an active rider until he passed.
He spent many years at Twin Oaks Community in Virginia where he recently enjoyed a 50th Anniversary Celebration. David was committed to alternative energy technology, and was one of the
first in the area to install solar panels on his home. He was passionate about organic farming and living sustainability and hoped to instill that passion in others
David was a peace activist and an advocate for the differently abled. He enjoyed traveling with his local chapter of ADAPT to demonstrate in support of disability rights and accessibility and could often be seen at area intersections standing for peace.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his son, Emrys and his love of dad jokes, and a sincere belief in taking care of the earth.
He is survived by his son, Emrys; and daughter-in –law, Karina. He was predeceased by his wife, Renee; brother, Ralph; and mother, Geraldine.
