The investigation into vehicle break-ins in parking lots at local parks and funeral homes in Ontario, Monroe and Livingston Counties has resulted in the arrest of three Rochester residents.
39-year-old Bruce Newton, 23-year-old Chelsea O’Hare and 20-year-old Cearra Campbell, are charged with eight counts of grand larceny and three counts of criminal mischief.
Newton is accused of going to public places, like shopping malls, and watching for women that would leave personal items, like their purse, inside their vehicle. Investigators allege Newton would then break into the car and steal those items. Newton is also accused of reading obituaries and targeting people attending funerals.
The suspects were taken into custody in Henrietta after purchasing stereo equipment using stolen credit cards.
