It’s a major party sweep for incumbent Seneca County District Attorney Barry Porsch.
Write-in primary votes were counted yesterday by the Seneca County Board of Elections for the Democratic Primary for District Attorney. Porsch received 547 write-in votes, Joe Sapio received 292 votes and 19 votes were cast for others. Porsch won 23 out of 27 Seneca County election districts.
On Tuesday, Porsch defeated Sapio in the Republican primary by a vote of 1,164 to 776.
Porsch will be on the Republican, Democratic and Working Families lines in November.
The Independence and Conservative Party primary elections for DA are too close to call and will be decided next week when absentee ballots are counted on Tuesday.
