Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul and State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey will join Auburn Mayor Michael Quill at 1:00pm on Friday to welcome the community and its leaders and celebrate key announcements regarding the new Central New York Cultural Heritage and Welcome Center. The center announced by Governor Mario Cuomo last fall will emphasize New York’s progressive history of promoting equality and fairness while encouraging tourism at the region’s many attractions and destinations.
Lt. Governor Hochul and Commissioner Harvey will announce a significant investment, unveil the latest designs and reveal the name of the center to be constructed on the site of Friday’s event, the parking lot across South St. from Auburn Memorial City Hall. The announcement is part of Governor Cuomo’s Central NY Rising initiative, the region’s comprehensive blueprint to generate robust economic growth and community development.
A tour of the Seward House Museum will take place following the ceremony.
