Victor Montaglione, 90, passed away at home on Thursday, (September 7, 2017).
Friends and family are invited to call Tuesday, (September 12), from 4-7 p.m. at the Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A military service will follow at the funeral home at 7:15 p.m.. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family request memorial contributions be directed to the House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
Vic was born on January 27, 1927 in Waterloo the son of the late Giuseppe and Michelina (Cavasinni) Montaglione. He was inducted into the Waterloo High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.
He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 earning the rank of Sergeant. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed going to the casino.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue (Paul) Wright of Geneva; sons Victor L. (Karen) of Penfield and Peter (Lynne) Montaglione of South Hampton, Long Island; grandchildren Janelle (Kyle) Bancroft, Samantha (Steve Grierson) Wright, Haleigh Wright, Valerie (Luke) Parillo, Thomas (Liana) Montaglione, Emily and Leigh Ann Montaglione; great-grandchildren, Beau Bancroft, Avery and Joseph Parillo; his sister Jennie Visco of Geneva; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Janet Green.
Vic was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Zona) Montaglione in 2000, sisters Mary Morganti, Angie Bell, Connie Dee, Loretta Keating and Josephine D’Augustino and his brothers Frank, Louis and Angelo Montaglione.
Vic’s family would like to thank; Michelle, from the Seneca Falls lab, Dr. Ignaczak and the staff at Finger Lakes Hematology Oncology in Clifton Springs, for the love, attention and great care that they gave him.
