Mike Tantillo leaves office January 1st after 28 years as Ontario County District Attorney. His top assistant Jim Ritts hopes to step up . He is seeking the GOP nomination in what has been a heated primary battle with private practice attorney Kitty Karle. Ritts has served 18 years under Tantillo and says he feels he’d maintain continuity in one of the most highly regarded DA’s offices in the state.
Ritts says a multi level approach is needed to fend off the on going opioid addiction crisis in the county , including a strong anti drug education program in the schools. Ritts was a guest Monday on the Finger Lakes Morning News.
