A lot of people want to help. What should you do? Well, for the most part, there’s one thing you SHOULDN’T do and that’s to collect things. Bedding, clothing, etc. all has to be shipped to where it’s needed, stored and distributed. That would be difficult in the best of circumstances and almost impossible after a disaster.

If you want to help, pick an agency you trust and send money. There are no logistical hassles and the money can be spent in the local economy, which puts the affected people back to work sooner.
