For the second time this weekend, Auburn emergency services have responded to a serious motor vehicle at the intersection of Grant Av. and Seymour St.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision Sunday morning. The unidentified female driver of one vehicle was taken to Auburn Community Hospital with unknown injuries.
On Friday night, a Skaneateles man allegedly fleeing from police after failing to stop at a DWI checkpoint at the Arterial and N. Fulton St. collided head on with a vehicle at the intersection.
According to Auburn Police, 26-year old Jene Smith of Auburn was turning right from Grant Av. onto Seymour St. as 39-year old Michael Demarco Jr. was eastbound on Seymour St. at a high rate of speed. He entered the westbound lane in an attempt to pass an eastbound vehicle stopped at the intersection.
Demarco was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and has since been released. Smith and her 6-year old son Dominic were treated and released from Auburn Community Hospital.
Both accidents remain under investigation and charges are pending. If you witnessed either collision, you are asked to call Auburn Police at (315) 253-3231.
