Ronald L. Featherly Sr. age 90, died on Monday (August 28, 2017) at his home surrounded by his family.
Friends may call on Thursday (Aug. 31) from 4-7 p.m. at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 MainStreet Phelps. Graveside services will be held on Friday (Sept 1) at St. Francis Cemetery in Phelps at 10 a.m. A private mass will celebrated with Bishop Giles from Order of St. Francis of Assisi.

Mr. Featherly was born on October 9, 1926 in East Syracuse, the son of the late Chester and Julia Hale Featherly. He was a member of Immaculate Conception. Mr. Featherly was a Navy veteran of WWII serving on the USS Foss. He retired after 42 years from General Electric in Auburn where he was the production supervisor. He enjoyed all sports but his true passion was baseball. Raised in East Syracuse, the entire family would meet every year at the State Fair as a family reunion. He had a great sense of humor and loved his Coke Cola. Mr. Featherly had a green thumb and loved gardening and could grow anything.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Featherly; children Donald (Cheryl) Featherly of Athens, Ga., Ronald (Lori) Featherly Jr. of Clifton Springs, Terry (Diana) Featherly of Phelps, Cheri (Scott) Kloepfel of Clifton Springs, Linda (Chuck Parker) McCullough of Phelps, Lisa Marie Featherly of Phelps, Joanie Miller of Phelps; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, three sisters Mary (Hank) Butler of Syracuse, Carol (Dick) Gilkey of Syracuse, Linda Margenski of Port Byron; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers.
