Lori Grace “Lolli” Dillon, 56, the matriarch in the Hamlet of Owasco, died unexpectedly Aug. 22, 2017 in her home.
Lori was born Jan. 30, 1961 to Myron and Ruth Wise Cooter from Spafford, N.Y. She was a graduate of Homer High School and was employed by the Cayuga/Onondaga BOCES as a teaching assistant for the Moravia Central School District. She also co-owned Owasco Paddles. Previously, she worked in the Skaneateles School District as a substitute teacher.
Lori was a member of Owasco Fire Department Station #2 and Owasco Reformed Church. She was active in the Skaneateles and Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce. She was certified as an EMT and paddleboard instructor.
She is survived by her children: Natalie (Greg) Palmer of Moravia, Nathaniel (Starr) Dillon of Owasco, Niki (Troy) Warne of Niles, Tessa (Steven) Brown of Skaneateles and Isaac (Rika) Dillon of Owasco; her grandchildren: Ashley Palmer, Dillon Palmer, Brycen Warne, Adam Brown and Baby Boy Brown; her siblings: Ruth (Allan) Hooper, Rebecca (Michael) McCarthy, Daniel (Marjorie) Cooter, Barbara Lane, Michael Cooter and Sally Smith; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. She is also survived by her long time companion, Peter “Pop” Chappell and business partner Audrey “Corn” Iwanicki.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur H. Dillon, in 2002 and both her parents.
The family wishes that when you remember Lolli, you take comfort in knowing that she is just on another adventure waiting for you to get there!
A memorial service celebrating Lori’s life will be held at 4:30 pm Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at the Owasco Reformed Church, Route 38A, Owasco, N.Y. Visitation will be held at the church before the service from 3 to 4:30 p.m. A reception will follow at Owasco Fire Station #1.
