Born July 30, 1926 to William B. Anthony and Alice Culver Anthony, at her family’s farmhouse on Anthony Road, near Dresden, NY, she was educated in a one-room schoolhouse as a child and graduated from Penn Yan Academy in Penn Yan, N.Y. She graduated from Keuka College and was an enthusiastic alumna for the rest of her life.
She worked at Cornell University from 1946 to 1993, where she was the administrator of both the newly founded Cornell Graduate School of Aeronautical Engineering and the MS&AE School.
After retiring from Cornell, she loved her new life as a “snow-bird”, spending her winters in Sarasota, Fla. and her summers at her beloved cottage on Seneca Lake. She stayed busy volunteering at Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, volunteering at Keuka College, playing bridge, and welcoming her many visitors to both her homes.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Anthony Ramin of Ithaca, N.Y. and is survived by her niece, Nancy Ramin Dalton, and her nephew, Bob Ramin, as well as her great-nieces and nephew Christine and Mary Dalton, and Peggy and Danny Ramin.
