The Tioga County businessman who was acquitted after a 4th trial in the murder of his wife, is now suing the county and its former District Attorney, among others, for monetary damages.
Cal Harris’s wife, Michele, went missing on September 11th, 2001.
Harris was convicted twice of murder, but both convictions were overturned.
After a 3rd trial ended with a hung jury, Harris was finally acquitted in May of last year.
Harris is suing in federal court, alleging malicious prosecution, fabrication of evidence, and the violation of his civil rights.
Tioga County, former DA Gerald Keene, and 2 state police investigators have been named in the suit.
