A Steuben County woman was found guilty Tuesday of all 7 counts she faced in connection with the murder of a 60-year-old Wayland man back in February of 2016.
Iryn Meyers, of Wayland, was found guilty of second-degree murder, two counts of arson, along with insurance fraud, attempted insurance fraud, conspiracy and making a false written statement.
Prosecutors say Meyers and her husband Joseph were looking to collect on a 140-thousand dollar insurance policy taken out on 60-year old David O’Dell when they set his house on fire.
O’Dell worked for Joseph Meyers, who was found guilty on similar charges back in May. He was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison. Iryn Meyers faces 25 years to life behind bars when sentenced at a later date.
