Bragging rights are on the line as members of the Auburn Police Local 195 and the Cayuga County Deputy Sheriff’s Benevolent Association have challenged each other to a canned food collection competition.
APD Officer Chris Major tells Finger Lakes News Radio with today’s political climate, it was time for a change from last year’s challenge.
Both agencies will be collecting non-perishable canned food items through September 9. Sheriff’s Detective Lieutenant Brian Schenck says there won’t be a need for firefighters to keep the peace at Tomatofest.
Your can support either side or both agencies by dropping your canned food donations at the Auburn Police Department headquarters on North St. or the Cayuga County Public Safety Building on County House Rd.
