Two Ithaca men have been arrested on attempted robbery and assault charges following an incident that occurred Tuesday night in the 1-HUNDRED block of Hudson Street.
The victim, Ithaca attorney Russell Maines, told police he had left his office and was walking home on Hudson Street when he heard footsteps and heavy breathing behind him. Maines says he was then allegedly jumped by two men that told him to give them everything he had. He struggled with the suspects and was hit in the head and neck before being thrown to the ground. The suspects left without any of Maines’ property. He was only able to give police a description of one of the two men.
Using that information, police were able to identify and later locate 19-year-old Dakota Croak and 18-year-old Anthony Higgins. Both are being held in lockup pending their arraignment.
Maines reportedly suffered head, neck and arm pain.
