William (Bill) M. Terwilliger, 66, of North Carolina, formerly of Port Byron, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Syracuse surrounded by his family.
Bill was born in Oswego, the son of the late Carl Terwilliger and Ruth Borden Terwilliger. He was a graduate of Cato-Meridian High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Before his retirement he was an adjuster at Lorillard in Greensboro, N.C. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, watching NASCAR and rooting for the Cleveland Browns and Syracuse Orange.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Kay Knapp Terwilliger; two daughters, Shelly (Carol) Terwilliger, of Pittsboro, N.C., and Carrie (Chris) Hill, of Whitsett, N.C; two sisters, Carole Capron, of Lyons and Virginia (Kenneth) Gardner, of Red Creek; a brother, Jeffrey Terwilliger, of Auburn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by a brother, Lyman Terwilliger, as well as a sister, Carlene Terwilliger.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Becker-Keysor Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
