A Penn Yan native has been named the new manager of the Ontario County Soil and Water Conservation District. Megan Webster was recently a technician for the district.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College and a masters of science in environmental chemistry from the University of Maryland. Her new duties include overseeing a half-dozen employees, as well as a variety of grants, projects and programs.
Webster, who now lives in Naples, takes over from P.J. Emerick after he left the position this spring after 10 years.
