Auburn City Council on Thursday evening gets an update on the powder activated charcoal filtering system that’s now installed at the city’s water pumping station. Municipal Utilities Director Seth Jensen tells Finger Lakes News Radio it’s so far, so good.
He adds there’s more testing scheduled for next week.
The carbon latches onto toxins detected in the raw water and turns it to sludge before it reaches the pumping station.
Council members will also get an update on the Auburn SPARKS brownfield opportunity area program at the meeting that gets underway at 5:00pm.
