The Rochester Red Wings tonight will make a one-day transformation to celebrate Rochester’s favorite food.
The team will change it’s name to the “Rochester Plates.” To celebrate, players will wear custom jerseys and the team will have a number of plate-related promotions.
Nick Tahou’s will also be at Frontier Field serving up garbage plates while other vendors will serve up their own variations of the dish. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the garbage plate. The game starts at 7:05 pm.
Last week the Syracuse Chiefs changed their name to the Syracuse “Salt Potatoes.”
