Marian E. Houghtaling, 97, of Cato, went to heaven Friday evening, Aug. 4, 2017 at her home in Cato surrounded by family members.
Marian was born in Victory, the daughter of the late Clarence Wood and Alma Marvin. She was employed at the Lincoln National Bank in Cato as the teller manager. She was a member of the Cato Legion Auxiliary, and an active, loyal member of the Cato Senior Citizens and the Victory Young at Heart. She enjoyed watching birds, her flowers, reading, sending cards, and spending time with her loving family who will miss her deeply.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Houghtaling; brothers, Paul Wood Sr. and Richard Wood; sister, Beatrice Matthews, and nephew, Robert Wood.
Marian is survived by nieces, Marian Betsy Matthews, Barbara Matthews, and Lou Ann (Ken) Roberts; nephews, David (Diane) Matthews and Paul (Linda) Wood Jr.; great-great-nephews, and many dear friends.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 at the Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home in Cato. The funeral service will take place at noon Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Victory Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Victory United Methodist Church, CIMVAC, LaBuff-Cole American Legion Auxiliary or the Victory Union Cemetery.
