A 54-year-old Ithaca man has been sentenced to five years probation after already spending more than 7 months in jail for breaking into a home last November that was occupied by four Ithaca College students.
Christopher Talman was found inside the South Aurora Street home by the landlord who had stopped by to shovel and clean the driveway. The landlord noticed windows in the upstairs of the home were open, even though his four tenants were away on their Thanksgiving break. When the landlord entered the home, he found extensive damage to the kitchen and an entryway with cabinets, chairs, desks, and counters destroyed. There was also fire damage to the floors and walls.
Talman has been ordered to pay more than 13-THOUSAND dollars in restitution.
