A former Auburn police officer convicted of stealing thousands of dollars from the Cayuga Police Benevolent Association was ordered by Judge Mark Fandrich on Tuesday to repay the PBA up to $600 a month. Brian Hutchings was convicted in 2012 of stealing more than $45,000 during his time as the PBA treasurer.
District Attorney Jon Budelmann tells Finger Lakes News Radio he was ordered to repay roughly $60,000 in restitution.
Budelmann said Hutchings has been living the high life and has only been paying $50 a month since being released on parole and asked Judge Fandrich to order him to repay $1,000 a month.
The disgraced ex-cop told the Judge he worked over 20 years and felt he deserved something.
