A 17 year old Pennsylvania teen has been arrested on an attempted murder charge after an infant was found alive in a plastic garbage bag behind a home in Elmira Tuesday afternoon.
Residents on Walnut Street heard a suspicious noise and thought it was an animal in distress when they found the 12-to-16 month old infant girl. It’s not known how long the child had been at that location, but investigators believe it had been at least 12 hours. She was taken to the hospital for further evaluation and is listed in stable condition.
Last night, Harriette Hoyt, of Sayre, Pennsylvania, was arrested by Elmira Police and arraigned in Elmira City Court.
