Geneva City leaders have spent years trying to come up with the best way to improve access between downtown and the lakefront. 2.2 million dollars in Downtown Revitalization Initiative money has been earmarked for the development of traffic-calming measures. They want to make crossing Routes 5 and 20 at Lake Street, Castle Street and Elizabeth Blackwell safer. City Manager Matt Horn says the State DOT will continue to have involvement in the planning process.
Construction isn’t expected to start until 2019.
