A Clyde couple was arrested Tuesday morning on child endangerment charges. It all started when 22 year old Kaitlyn Zimmerman called Wayne County 911 and hung up. They called back. She denied placing the first call when contacted the operator . Deputies came out and that’s when they found an allegedly intoxicated 25 year old Rodrigo Morales on walking down the road. He got spooked and ran off into the woods. While tracking Morales other deputies went to the couples home finding a 3 year old boy but no one else.
Morales was eventually taken into custody with a small amount of cocaine in his possession. A few hours later Zinmmerman shows and is placed under arrest . He gets charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, for leaving their 3 year old son in his care knowing that he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol
Deputies found a family member to look after the boy . The couple were arraigned and released on their own recognizance. Both will reappear at a later date in the Town Court to answer to the charges.
