The investigation into a shooting incident in May in Steuben County has resulted in charges against a 26 year old Jasper man.
When sheriff’s deputies arrived at a Five Corners Road residence, they found Michael Whritenhour on his front lawn suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators determined Whritenhour was clearing off a bed inside of his home and knocked a gun over, which fell to the floor and discharged, striking him in the stomach. He was taken to Robert Packer Hospital for treatment. As investigators were processing the scene, they discovered marijuana plants growing inside and outside of the home.
Whritenhour was ticketed this week for criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful growing of cannabis.
