Terry Pelc, of Fleming Street, passed away on July 26, 2017 at the Commons on St. Anthony.
A lifelong resident of Auburn, he was the son of the late Stanley R. Pelc and Betty Peacock Pelc. Terry attended St. Alphonsus Elementary and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. He continued his education at Auburn Community College and then Yale School of Inhalation Therapy in New Haven, Conn. Upon graduation, he became a respiratory therapist at Auburn Memorial Hospital and remained in that position for more than 30 years, retiring in 1999.
Outside of his professional obligations, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family and engaging in photography, coin collecting, classic cars, and reading about his favorite topics in history.
Married to his wife, Beverly Barnett Pelc, for 37 years, Terry cherished the time spent with her. He respected and was very proud of her accomplishments as a wife and mother.
Terry is survived by his sister, Sue Pelc; his children, Timothy Pelc, and Kathryn (Pelc) Galluzzo and her husband, Christopher; along with his first grandchild, CJ. Also surviving is his aunt and godmother, Josephine Bishop; his aunts and uncles, Mary Desantis, of Middletown, N.Y., John and Geri Pelc, Margie Zelehowsky, and Ronald Peacock.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Beverly, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend Terry’s Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017 in St. Alphonsus Church. Terry will be buried with his wife and parents in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours for Terry will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Heieck-Pelc Funeral Home, LLC, 42 E. Genesee St., Auburn.
