After 5 days of deliberation, Monroe County jurors reached verdicts in the Craig Rideout murder trial Tuesday.
Estranged wife Laura Rideout was found guilty of murder, burglary and tampering with evidence. Their son Colin was found guilty of murder and tampering. His brother Alex was acquitted on the murder charge he was facing, but was found guilty of evidence tampering. Jurors found Laura Rideout’s boyfriend, Paul Tucci, not guilty of murder and evidence tampering.
Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O’ Flynn said it was one of the most heinous cases in his thirty plus years with the sheriff’s office.
Yates County Sheriff Ron Spike reiterated what Sheriff O’Flynn said about the cooperation between agencies.
Laura, Colin and Alex Rideout were all taken into custody after the verdicts were read. Their sentencing is scheduled for September 1st.
Craig Rideout’s acid-disfigured body was found in a wooded area off Adams Road in the town of Jerusalem in June of 2016. He was murdered in his Penfield home.
