On July 20, 2017, Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators concluded an investigation into an allegation of prostitution. Arrested were the following:
Karl B. Wilcox, age 50, of 92 Highland Drive, Dundee, New York, on a charge of Patronizing a Person for Prostitution in the Third Degree. Wilcox was issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Tyre Town Court on July 25, 2017 at 5pm.
Charles J. Smith, age 40, of 68 Virginia Street, Waterloo, New York, on a charge of Promoting Prostitution in the Fourth Degree. Smith was issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Tyre Town Court on August 22, 2017 at 5pm.
The allegations stem from an incident that occurred on June 12, 2017, where Smith transported an adult female from the City of Syracuse to the parking lot of the del Lago Casino in the Town of Tyre. It is alleged that Smith received payment from Wilcox for transporting the female and facilitated the arrangement with all three aware that the female would receive payment from Wilcox for sexual acts.
The female involved was not charged; a referral was made for services. Penn Yan Police Department assisted with the investigation.
