The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on July 21, 2017 at approximately 11:00am Sheriff Deputies responded to 8950 Marilyn Dr in Lodi for a personal injury accident. Brandon M Bostwick, age 20 of 15 Tioga St Waverly NY, was operating a Ford F-350 dump truck towing a Bush Bandit wood chipper up a steep hill behind the above residence after completing a logging job. Anthony M Elmore, age 35 of 7061 Searsburg Rd Trumansburg, who owns the logging company was also on scene and attempted to pull the dump truck up the hill with an excavator after it got stuck in the mud. While doing so the chain disconnected and the dump truck became detached from the excavator. The dump truck began to roll back down the hill towards the lake, at which time Bostwick jumped out of the truck and was briefly pinned between the truck and wood chipper. The truck overturned , causing substantial damage, and came to rest on its right side. Bostwick was complaining of back and side pain and was checked over at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance then subsequently transported to Upstate Medical via LifeNet air ambulance. Deputies report he was treated and released . The accident is still under investigation.
