Two arrests have been made in connection with the discovery of anti-police, anti-Christian and pro-drug graffiti in several locations, including on the wall and parking lot of a funeral home, in the village of Penn Yan last Monday.
After receiving tips from residents and business owners and after reviewing video surveillance, a 13 year old juvenile was interviewed. The teen confessed to the crime and will appear in Yates County Family Court.
Village Police also charged 32 year old Tessa Simons-Covert with endangering the welfare of a child for failing to provide adequate supervision to the 13 year old, who police have had numerous contacts with over the last year for complaints involving criminal mischief, trespass, harassment and other issues. Simons-Covert will appear in village court at a later date.
