Thank you, Wayne County! The Village of Newark, the Newark Chamber of Commerce, and the Wayne County Farm Bureau want to thank everyone who attended, sponsored or donated to the Taste of Wayne County event held July 18, 2017 in the Village of Newark.
A sunny, beautiful evening highlighted this first and now annual event along the banks of the Erie Canal. In a fitting tribute to the 200th anniversary of the Canal along with the VoteTilla celebration, several boats were not only docked at The Port of Newark, but they took a leisurely cruise down the Canal.
Newark Mayor, Jonathan Taylor, estimates that over 800 people sampled food and beverages provided by Wayne County merchants and craft beverage industries.
Mayor Taylor said “I am grateful and overwhelmed at the show of support we received from vendors, people attending and our friends from across Wayne County that came to T. Spencer Knight Park for the Taste of Wayne County.”
Newark Chamber of Commerce President Jessica Wells went on to say, “We couldn’t have asked for a better night or a better turnout for our first Taste of Wayne County event. We had a great committee that helped put the event together and generous sponsors that made the event possible! It was great to see so many happy people!”
Event sponsors included K&D Disposal, Reed Eye Associates, Super Gen Products, O’Haver Financial, Lyons National Bank, The Apple Shed & Old Goat Cidery, James S. Sullivan Agency Insurance, Smith’s Gravel Pit, Seneca Foods, Newark Pilots, Lake Breeze Fruit Farm, ESL Credit Union, Dr. Dingus, Doebler Realty, Caitlin Office Interiors, and Ameriprise Financial.
