Upstate Niagara Cooperative, a farmer owned cooperative of 360 dairy farms throughout Western New York, is expected to take over the Kraft-Heinz plant in the town of Campbell early next month.
The deal guarantees at least 125 jobs will remain in Campbell with an anticipated growth to 150 within a year. Upstate says it intends to grow in the region and expand its workforce at the plant located right off I-86. Kraft-Heinz has pledged an ongoing investment of 3 to 5-MILLION dollars to improve the Steuben County facility.
Local, state and federal government officials had been working with Kraft-Heinz since it was announced in 2015 the plant would close, leaving more than 3-HUNDRED people without jobs.
