John M. Panek, 62, of Savannah, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the comfort of his home, with family by his side.
John was born in Auburn on Oct. 24, 1954, the son of Joseph and Vivian Battram Panek. He was a graduate of Weedsport High School and was employed as a technician with Xerox of Rochester. John retired from Xerox. John and Lynn enjoyed going to Florida for the winter months; they enjoyed traveling. They loved being with family on Frost Hill along with Yukon, Cha Cha, and Jasmine, their dogs.
John was predeceased by his loving, devoted wife, Lynn Howell Panek on June 27, 2017; his father, Joe Panek; his mother, Vivian (Battram) (Panek) Randolph; step father, Robert E. Randolph Sr.
He is survived by brothers, Joe Panek, of Weedsport, George Panek (Brewerton), Robert (Pam) Randolph, of Cato, Charles (Linda) Randolph, of Weedsport, and Scott (Sue) Randolph, of Weedsport; brother-in-law, Butch (Janine) Howell, Port Byron. John had many nieces and nephews and also great-nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in the Countryside United Methodist Church, Duck Lake Road, Port Byron.
