The City of Auburn is on schedule for getting its temporary water filtration system operational. Municipal Utilities Director Seth Jensen tells Finger Lakes News Radio the contractor has been on site for the past two and a half weeks preparing for the delivery of the temporary carbon filtration unit.
Jensen adds the news this week that algal blooms have closed the Owasco Yacht Club swimming beach confirms the decision to have an aggressive construction schedule in order to have the unit operational in time for the height of the bloom season.
It’s hoped the unit will be running within two weeks. The Town of Owasco’s temporary system is expected to be up and running next week.
