The inaugural Auburn Rotary Ribs Rhythm and Blues Festival was a huge success.
Local favorite 40 Bear BBQ took home the People’s Choice Award. Chef Rick Lupo from Dutch Hollow Country Club told Finger Lakes News Radio his team were thrilled to be honored after taking part in their first competition, and they learned something from the judges.
40 Bear edged the Copper Pig as the fan favorite, while the judges named Rochester’s Good Smoke as Grand Champion and Shortsville Smokers from Shortsville, NY was awarded Reserve Grand Champion.
Pete Marshall brought his Off the Bone BBQ team from Columbus, Ohio. He told Finger Lakes News Radio the event was done right and they’ll be back.
Marshall added he wants to come back because he didn’t get the chance to swim in Owasco Lake.
