Just before 8 Sunday night, Yates County Deputies and Marine Patrol Officers were called out to a crash involving a jet ski and a boat with four people on board on Keuka Lake. When they got to the location, the 5 people involved had already been brought to shore near the New York State Sheriff’s Association Camp by quick thinking eyewitnesses. EMT’s checked everyone over and each refused further treatment. An investigation shows the jet ski operated by 72 year old Robert Ford of Rochester had just taken off when the boat passed in front of him. The jet ski punched a good size hole in the boat’s left side. The boat was carrying 4 people from Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The boat and jet ski were towed to the beach. Charges are pending in the case.
