
The Seneca Falls It’s a Wonderful Life Museum and the Smith Center for the Arts present the Karolyn Grimes “Zuzu” Film Festival at the historic Smith Opera House July 19th, 20th, and 21st.
Karolyn Grimes is best known for her role as Zuzu, the endearing youngest child of the Bailey family in the 1946 Frank Capra classic /It’s a Wonderful Life/. Her career as a child actress included 16 movies, three of which will be part of this special film festival.
Each evening will feature a special reception before a screening and presentation by Grimes about her memories working on the different films and the actors she worked with, including Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Bing Crosby and John Wayne. Light refreshments will be served during the receptions, and wine and beer will be available to purchase on July 21.
The lineup is as follows:
Wednesday, July 19:*/The Bishop’s Wife/ will be screened, with a welcome reception hosted by the Seneca Falls Historical Society.
Thursday, July 20:*/Rio Grande/ will be screened, with a Karolyn Grimes Birthday Reception hosted by ARC of Seneca Cayuga.
Friday, July 21:*It’s a Wonderful Life will be screened, with a Christmas in July Reception.
The doors open with a reception at 6 p.m. on all three nights. Karolyn Grimes will introduce the night’s featured film and discuss the making of the movie prior to its screening, beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Tickets are $15 per night, $40 for all three nights and can be purchased at the Smith Opera House Box Office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday;by phone at 315-781-5483 during Box Office hours; or anytime at www.thesmith.org.
