The New York Sea Grant and Cornell University want to know about more about the flood damage along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
Researchers are asking residents, business owners, and other lake stakeholders to complete an online survey about the impact of this year’s high water levels. They’re also asking for pictures that will be used to help illustrate what’s happened.
Information is being accepted through August 31st. According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as of July 9th, the lake’s level was 248.4 feet. That’s about 4 inches above its highest monthly average for July, set back in 1947.
