On Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 7:59 pm the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department arrested Luis A. Vargas-Diaz, age 23, of 1008 Waterloo Geneva Road Waterloo, New York following a shoplifting complaint at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. It was reported to police that Vargas-Diaz stole merchandise from the store, then when confronted by asset protection employee’s, he ran. Police located him, along with the stolen property, hiding nearby. During the investigation and review of surveillance camera footage, police also discovered that Vargas-Diaz brought used grocery bags into the store to make it look like he purchased the items, when he had not. Police charged him with Petit Larceny and Possession of Burglar’s Tools, both class A misdemeanors. He was arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court where he was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1000 cash bail. He is scheduled to re-appear on July 12, 2017, at 9:30 am.
