With area kids now out of school for the summer, that doesn’t mean reading, and learning, should stop. Penn Yan Public Library Youth Services Librarian Sarah Creveling calls it a “summer learning slump.”
Sarah says some teachers locally will issue students reading assignments for the summer.
The library has also launched an 8 week summer reading program that begins Monday where participating kids can earn a brand new book for every two hours they read. For more information and to sign up, stop by the library at 214 Main Street in Penn Yan.
