A Savona man that’s locked up in the Steuben County Jail has been arrested on felony charges of criminal contempt and aggravated family offense.
Robert Babcock, Junior is accused of calling an individual from jail that has an active order of protection against him. Babcock had previously been convicted of a crime against a member of the same family. He was sent back to Steuben County Jail after his arraignment.
The 33 year old was arrested earlier this month after being accused of unlawfully entering a home where a domestic incident involving an individual that has an order of protection against him was taking place. Babcock then left but allegedly came back to the same house and entered it again unlawfully and was then taken into custody. He faces two felony counts each of burglary and criminal contempt, along with misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief.
